Fall Foot Races

Fall Foot Races took over Bend on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with four distances: the Fall Foot Half, the Bigfoot 10K, the Fleet Foot 5K, and the Little Foot kids run. The half marathon started at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station and dropped down the paved path to the Deschutes River Trail and the Old Mill before finishing at Riverbend Park. This year marked 50 years of the Bigfoot 10K, the longest-running road race in Central Oregon.
The day raised more than $10,000 for local high school cross country teams, and it ran on volunteers as much as runners. The Central Oregon Running Klub and the Bend Marathon team put it on together. The organizations below took part, and they welcome volunteers all year.

Central Oregon Running Klub
also known as CORK
Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) is a Bend nonprofit running club that brings runners of all abilities together through group runs, races, and events, and gives back to the region's trails as a partner in local trail stewardship.
Members and friends volunteer at club races and events, help lead group runs, and join trail work days with Deschutes Trails Coalition partners to care for the trails runners use.
The Bend Marathon and Half is a locally owned spring road race weekend featuring a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and kids race on scenic courses through West Bend's neighborhood parks, ponderosa pine forest, and along the Deschutes River, finishing in the Old Mill District with a festive afterparty. Hosted by local runners Kari Strang and Max King, it supports local beneficiary nonprofits and runs a youth running program. The 12th edition is April 11, 2027.
Volunteers make race weekend happen: staffing aid stations with water and encouragement, packet pickup and bib distribution, course marshaling to guide runners, finish-line support with medals and results, and help with the kids race and the post-race party. Shifts are usually a few hours on race weekend, groups are welcome, and volunteers typically get an event shirt. Sign up through the race's volunteer registration.
