Veterans Day

Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, and Central Oregon marks it in a big way. Bend's Veterans Day Parade, one of the largest in the state, steps off downtown at 11 a.m. for its 25th year, produced by Central Oregon Veterans Outreach with support from the High Desert Eagles of the Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association. Before dawn, Bend Heroes Foundation volunteers line Veterans Memorial Bridge and downtown with the Parade of Flags, each one flown over the U.S. Capitol and stitched with a veteran's name. Communities from La Pine to Prineville hold their own parades and ceremonies.

Honoring veterans doesn't have to stop at one day. The organizations below serve veterans and their families all year, from rides to medical appointments and care packages for deployed troops to fly fishing, peer support, and help for veterans facing homelessness, and most of them welcome volunteers whether or not you've served.
