Oregon Remembers: Community Day

Oregon Remembers comes to Central Oregon Veterans Ranch in Bend, with its main Community Day on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. The day includes a remembrance ceremony, the Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall, a replica of the submarine S.S. Redside, and a Veteran Resource Fair with organizations serving veterans and their families. Everyone is welcome; no registration is required, though an RSVP helps with planning.

The Ranch says volunteers are essential to making the day happen, and it is signing them up through its event page.

Organizations taking part

Central Oregon Veterans Ranch is a working ranch near Bend where veterans find community, purpose, and healing, offering housing and care for aging veterans in a peaceful rural setting and hands-on farm, garden, and animal work for veterans of all ages.

Volunteering looks like

Community volunteers keep the working ranch running: providing meals for veteran workdays and partner gatherings, admin and outreach help, technical (IT) support, gardening and greenhouse work, and seasonal workdays such as roadside clean-ups and garden teardown. Veterans can join weekly veteran-led workdays on the ranch, covering harvest, garden and project work, followed by a community lunch.
