Who Can Volunteer

Serve on a Committee or Commission

Cities, counties, courts, and regional agencies rely on community members to serve on advisory committees, commissions, and citizen review boards. Members help shape local plans, budgets, parks, transportation, housing, and services, and some review cases or advise programs directly. Seats are usually unpaid, meet on a regular schedule (often monthly, and sometimes online), and many have residency or other requirements. These organizations have committee, commission, or review board seats open to community members. Check each one's page for current openings and how to apply. Looking for a seat on a nonprofit board instead? See organizations seeking board members at /focus/board-service.
