High Desert Education Service District

also known as HDESD

About High Desert Education Service District

A public regional education agency based in Redmond that provides shared and specialized services to Central Oregon school districts, including Bend-La Pine, Redmond, Crook County, and Sisters. Its programs include early intervention and early childhood special education, K-12 special programs, the Healthy Families of the High Desert home-visiting program, homeschool and migrant education services, career and technical education, and school safety coordination. It also hosts the Early Learning Hub of Central Oregon, which serves Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties and partners with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.

Volunteering looks like

Classroom volunteering (working with children, supporting staff, or helping with projects) and office help such as typing, filing, and projects, across HDESD's school and early childhood programs. Volunteers complete online training and a state-required background check paid for by the ESD, renew every school year, and are never left unsupervised with children.
