About Deschutes County Bar Association

The local professional association for attorneys who live or work mainly in Deschutes County, open without dues to Oregon State Bar members in good standing. It offers continuing legal education and networking events and works to improve the community's access to legal services. With the Deschutes County Circuit Court, it co-founded the Deschutes County Access to Justice Committee, which runs the free Lawyer in the Library consultations with Deschutes Public Library.

Volunteering looks like

Pro bono volunteering for licensed attorneys: free short consultations with self-represented people through Lawyer in the Library, recruited and trained through the Access to Justice Committee, plus committee work on continuing legal education, special events, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Volunteer roles are for attorneys only.
