Volunteer opportunities in Central Oregon

Moms Demand Action - Oregon

also known as Oregon Moms Demand Action; Moms Demand Action Oregon Chapter

About Moms Demand Action - Oregon

The Oregon chapter of Moms Demand Action is the statewide arm of a grassroots volunteer movement, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, that works for public safety measures to protect people from gun violence. Chapter volunteers hold an annual advocacy day in Salem, testify on state legislation, and support local groups around the state, including the Central Oregon group in Bend. Moms Demand Action describes itself as nonpartisan, and anyone can join, not only mothers.

Volunteering looks like

Volunteers take part in legislative advocacy (contacting lawmakers, testifying, advocacy days), community events and vigils, Be SMART safe firearm storage education, voter outreach, tabling at local events, and survivor support. Most actions can be done from home through the app, or in person with a local group. Students Demand Action offers a path for high school and college students.
