Volunteer opportunities in Central Oregon

Make-A-Wish Oregon

About Make-A-Wish Oregon

Make-A-Wish Oregon grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses across the state, including Central Oregon. The chapter is based in Portland, and Central Oregon supporters rally around local wish kids with community fundraisers like the Runs for Wishes ski-a-thon at Mt. Bachelor and give-back days at Bend restaurants.

Volunteering looks like

Volunteering is coordinated statewide by the Oregon chapter. Wish granters work in pairs to meet wish kids and their families and help plan their wishes. Other roles include translators and interpreters, event volunteers, skills-based help (design, photography, and more), speakers, outreach, and office support. Start with a new volunteer orientation; an application, references, and a background check are required, plus training for wish granters.
