Volunteer opportunities in Bend, Oregon

Leadership Bend

About Leadership Bend

Leadership Bend is a civic leadership program of the BendNEXT Foundation and the Bend Chamber, running for more than 30 years. Each cohort spends several months learning about Bend's history, government, economy, and community needs from local leaders and organizations. Its nearly 700 alumni serve across Central Oregon on nonprofit boards, in public office, and in other civic roles. Connect Central Oregon has been among the local organizations sponsoring participants in the program.

Volunteering looks like

Leadership Bend prepares people for community service, and graduates go on to nonprofit boards, commissions, and civic roles. Alumni give back by speaking to new cohorts, hosting program days, and mentoring. Local organizations, including nonprofits, often sponsor staff or volunteers to take part.
