About Hearts Unknown Education
Hearts Unknown Education (HÚE) supports young people ages 5–18 who are struggling emotionally through free "creative wellness" classes: art and free expression, music and drumming, meditation, and breath work in a safe, judgment-free space in Bend. Founded in 2022 by mental health professionals, artists, and funders, it now serves more than 100 kids, with mental health professionals volunteering in its classes.
Volunteering looks like
Artists, educators, and mental health professionals volunteer in classes, giving technique tips, encouragement, and support as kids create, and professionals help advise the curriculum. Community members can also help with art supplies, snacks, and events like the annual Art from the Heart fundraiser.
