Great Pyrs & Paws Rescue
also known as GPPR
About Great Pyrs & Paws Rescue
Bend-based, volunteer-run rescue for Great Pyrenees and other livestock guardian breeds, saving dogs from high-kill shelters in Texas and the Pacific Northwest. Dogs are rehabilitated in foster homes across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Texas and adopted to families throughout the West, and the rescue also offers an owner surrender assistance program and breed education.
Volunteering looks like
Fostering is the heart of it: foster families care for Great Pyrenees and other livestock guardian dogs until they're adopted, including hospice and medical-care dogs. Volunteers also serve as adoption counselors, create social media content, and help recruit and support other volunteers, much of which can be done remotely.
