Crook County District Attorney Victim Assistance Program

also known as Crook County Victims' Assistance Program

About Crook County District Attorney Victim Assistance Program

Part of the Crook County District Attorney's Office, the program helps reduce the impact crime has on the community and helps victims make informed decisions. It explains victims' rights, provides crisis intervention and in-court support, helps with restraining and stalking orders and restitution, gives case status updates, and refers victims to food, shelter, and other services, with 24-hour crisis response.

Volunteering looks like

Volunteer victim advocates provide crisis intervention, safety planning, court accompaniment, and follow-up contact, including with domestic violence victims. Crisis Intervention Team members take a monthly on-call shift to respond on scene with emergency help. Training covers the legal system, the Crime Victims' Bill of Rights, crisis intervention, and domestic violence advocacy.
