Volunteer opportunities in Prineville, Oregon
Christmas in the Pines
also known as Grimes Christmas Scene
About Christmas in the Pines
Christmas in the Pines presents the Grimes Christmas Scene, a beloved Prineville holiday tradition at the Crook County Fairgrounds. Built from a family collection of miniatures gathered over more than 80 years, the display fills a building with hundreds of holiday and seasonal scenes, from mountain and seaside villages to theatrical stages and forest wonderlands. It opens weekends from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas, welcomes school groups, and is free to all, supported by donations.
Volunteering looks like
Volunteers help set up and take down the display each season, greet visitors and host weekend viewing hours from Thanksgiving through Christmas, guide school groups, and help with donations and outreach that keep the display free.
