About Central Oregon Tool Library
The Central Oregon Tool Library (COTool) lends tools the way a library lends books, from power drills and saws to garden shears, so anyone can take on home repairs, gardening, and DIY projects without buying expensive equipment. Borrowing instead of buying reduces waste and costs, builds skills, and connects neighbors. Memberships are pay-what-you-can, and no one is turned away for inability to pay. Opened in September 2025 in a shipping container at the Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity ReStore, it is 100% volunteer-run and fiscally sponsored by Habitat.
Volunteering looks like
The tool library is 100% volunteer-run. Volunteers staff open hours to check tools in and out and help members find what they need, and the library also needs help with photography, creative and marketing work, and retail-style support. More volunteers means more open hours for the community. Reach out through volunteer@cotool.org to get involved.
