Volunteer opportunities in Bend, Oregon

Central Oregon Locavore

About Central Oregon Locavore

Central Oregon Locavore is a Bend nonprofit, founded in 2009, that runs the region's only year-round indoor farmers market, selling food grown and raised by Central Oregon farmers and ranchers seven days a week. It works to make fresh, nutrient-dense local food accessible to everyone, accepting SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks, and Oregon Farm Direct vouchers, and strengthens the local food system through cooking classes, a high school Farm School, farm-to-table dinners, and support for small farmers.

Volunteering looks like

Volunteers help run the indoor farmers market and community events, and join WWOLF (Willing Workers on Local Farms) work parties that send small groups out to local farms and ranches to help with planting, harvesting, weeding, and seasonal projects in exchange for a farm-fresh meal. Registration is free and no farming experience is needed.
