Volunteer opportunities in Central Oregon

Cascade Lakes Relay

About Cascade Lakes Relay

Cascade Lakes Relay is a two-day running relay each June, billed as Oregon's most challenging relay course. It starts at Diamond Lake Resort in the Cascades, crosses the Oregon Outback and rural communities like Silver Lake, Gilchrist, and La Pine, then loops around Mt. Bachelor to finish in Bend. Put on by Cascade Relays since 2008, it supports local charities through the Cascade Relays Foundation.

Volunteering looks like

Volunteers staff the course on relay weekend in late June, working 6–8 hour shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight) anywhere along the route. Volunteers must be 18 or older, register online, and sign a waiver; assignments are released in June. Charity and community groups can also volunteer through the Hire-a-Volunteer program and earn grants for their organization. Every volunteer gets a Cascade Relays hat and an invite to the finish line celebration.
