About Bend/Sunrise Lions Club
Bend Lions club serving the community for more than 50 years, best known for its Sight and Hearing Program: eyeglass assistance for low-income residents, school vision screenings, and used-glasses collection. For decades it ran the Deschutes County Fair demolition derby and has supported Volunteers in Medicine, SMART reading, and COCC scholarships. Membership has declined since 2020 and the club welcomes new members.
Volunteering looks like
Members collect used eyeglasses for donation, help low-income neighbors get eye exams and glasses, and support local causes like reading programs and college scholarships. The club is small and actively looking for new members and business sponsors, so newcomers can make a real difference. Meets first and third Tuesdays at noon at Jake's Diner.
