About 3 Sisters Equine Rescue
3 Sisters Equine Refuge, an all-volunteer, foster-based horse rescue founded more than a decade ago, rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes horses at risk of slaughter, neglect, and abuse across Central Oregon. It takes in all breeds, especially orphaned foals and wild horses from BLM roundups and the Warm Springs Reservation, along with high-needs seniors, providing quality medical care and patient, kindness-based training. Some horses are adopted; others stay in permanent sanctuary.
Volunteering looks like
3 Sisters is entirely volunteer-run. Volunteers care for about 30 rescue horses at foster ranches around Deschutes County: feeding, cleaning, grooming, and handling, and gently gentling wild and orphaned horses with kindness-based training. Others foster horses on their own property, help with adoptions and transport, and support fundraisers like the annual Boots and Bourbon dinner and auction.
